Here is my story. Hopefully, it will at least get you thinking and hopefully moving. I was never a great athlete. I played soccer and basketball in grade school, then moved to football in high school. I started my freshman year at 145 lbs. By the end of my junior year I was approaching 185 lbs. I started a workout program that summer as instructed by my football coach. He wanted me gain at least 20 lbs., because I played the offensive line, and he wanted me over 200 lbs. This is where I think it all started. At 17, I was working out 3-4 days a week and eating everything in sight in order to gain weight. I made it to 205 lbs. in time for football camp my senior year. After high school, I stopped exercising completely, but my eating habits did not change, and I started to gain even more weight. Luckily, I started a job with a lawn care company, and I was back to moving again. I lost weight but was still eating anything I wanted. At 26, I was newly married and starting a new sales job. I sat behind a desk all day, and you guessed it – I gained more weight, now to 215 lbs. We decided to join the YMCA, and I started working out and playing basketball every morning. I was able to lose ten lbs., and I thought I was doing great. I could not lose any more weight, but again I did not change my eating habits. By 30 though, I was back up to 220 lbs. Over the next several years, I had two different memberships at Golds and at the local community center. Of course, I started strong and slowly faded, never really getting on track, and eventually just quit altogether. I reached my heaviest around the age of 40. I was tipping the scale between 228-235 lbs., and, of course, buying the next size up in pants every so often and was up to a size 38. I watched my wife struggle as well. Fast forward, to Dec 2016. After running into a friend of ours, we found out that he had lost over 120 lbs. Suzanne, my wife asked him how he did it, and he said he was working out, lifting weights, and had gotten on an eating plan. He told us he did all this through Integrity Training Systems. He told us if we were really serious, we should go check it out. So, we did in January, 2017. We met with Misti, one of the personal trainers. She walked us though an evaluation and gave us the information we needed. We decided to take the plunge, and we signed up as a couple and began working out together with Misti. We also decided to sign up with Debbie to do the eating program as well. I won’t lie…it was not easy, but as time went on I was losing weight every week. I could really tell the difference. I was sleeping better, not getting tired in the afternoon after lunch, heartburn was gone, etc. I went from 228 lbs. to 179 lbs., and I feel awesome. I can not say enough about Misti and Debbie. They both were and are a blessing in our lives. Everyone at Integrity makes you feel welcome. If you want to make a lifestyle change and not just shed a few pounds, I could not recommend a better place than Integrity Training Systems.
